TOM THUM | BEATBOXING

TOM THUM (Australia)
Armed with just a microphone, Thum pushes the limits of the human voice to create incredible soundtracks of impossible beats and phenomenal sounds, with scratched vinyl, the Michael Jackson back-catalogue, the didgeridoo and an entire fifties jazz band amongst his vocal repertoire.
Thum challenges preconceptions of the capabilities of the human voice-box and reveals a unique form of vocal technique that spans an amplitude of eras and genres, with not an instrument, synthesizer, drum machine or sampler in sight.
In 2010 Tom won the category “Best Noise and Sound Effects” at the World Beatbox Convention in Berlin. In Australia he is already famous and he was voted “Australias’s best all rounder” at the Australian Hip Hop Awards three years in a row (2007-2010).
